Carbon Academy Undergraduate Workshop

Mission

The mission of the inaugural Carbon Academy Workshop is to provide essential insights into soil carbon, carbon farming, on-farm carbon credit assessments, soil carbon measurement techniques (including remote sensing), and to explore broader topics such as policy, legal considerations, carbon as it relates to food security, societal carbon value, ecosystem services payments, and carbon market mechanisms.

Our inaugural Carbon Academy event is an in-person, half-day workshop for undergraduate students. The workshop features several guest speakers, including Tania Burgos-Hernández, Matthew Hamilton, Rattan Lal, Klaus Lorenz, and Asmita Murumkar. There will be a demonstration of greenhouse gas measurement in soil with Klaus Lorenz and Lab Manager Kyle Sklenka.
