Carbon Academy Workshop in Stark County

Mission

The mission of the Carbon Academy workshops is to provide essential insights into soil carbon, carbon farming, on-farm carbon credit assessments, and soil carbon measurement techniques (including remote sensing). These workshops also explore broader topics such as policy and economic considerations, carbon as it relates to food security, societal carbon value, ecosystem services payments, and carbon market mechanisms.

The Carbon Academy in Stark County is a five-hour workshop for farmers in Ohio interested in learning more about soil carbon and how it can benefit their farming practices. The workshop features three farm visits showcasing different farming practices with presenters Heather Neikirk and Lauren Baldarelli, as well as several guest speakers, including Rattan LalAsmita MurumkarManbir Rakkar, and Prabhjot Singh. The workshop will also include interactive roundtable discussions with farmers and speakers. Lunch will be catered free of charge.
