As a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Lal Carbon Center over the past year a half, I’ve gained on-farm experience that will undoubtedly advance my career in agricultural research. Working with the farmers on the Stark Sustainable Soils project has been an incredible experience and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity.
Thank you to Heather Neikirk, Extension Educator at the Ohio State University Extension office in Massillon, for her day-to-day guidance on the project in Stark County, to Kyle Sklenka, Lab Manager at the Carbon Center for his technical assistance in the lab, and to the office staff, Hannah Shively, Rebecca Chacko, and Maggie Willis for making everything happen behind the scenes! Thank you also to Guna Khanal for his collaboration on the project and to the entire lab for their enthusiasm for soil science and carbon sequestration. Lastly, many thanks to Dr. Lal for this opportunity and for his mentorship throughout the study.
I’m excited to announce that I will join HowGood, an independent research company focused on food sustainability as an Agricultural Research Scientist. I’m looking forward to starting this next chapter of my career. Keep in touch and take care!
