Dr. Lal was honored to be invited to speak at Rio Agro 2024. On the second day of Rio-Agro on July 30th, 2024, Dr. Lal gave a lecture entitled “Managing Tropical Agriculture in Sustainable Agri-Food Systems for Food and Climate Security” to the audience as part of the Main Plenary Session. The focus of that day was “Food Security and Sustainable Agricultural Production,” and Dr. Lal was joined by former Minister of Agriculture Roberto Rodrigues who shared Brazil’s commendable journey toward greater food security. Later, Dr. Lal gave a second lecture entitled “Carbon Farming and Global Issues.” Dr. Lal enjoyed connecting with his colleagues and meeting NRCS Chief Terry Crosby at this incredible event hosting thousands of attendees.
