Dr. Elgharably obtained his Ph.D. in soil fertility and plant nutrition from the University of Adelaide, Australia (2008). He has been an academic, now professor, teaching soil science courses in Dept Soils and Water, Assiut University, Egypt, but also filled in postdoctoral positions at JIRICAS, Japan (2009-2010), the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA (2012-2013) and California State University Fresno, CA, USA (2016-2017). His research experience deals with soil management and crop productivity with a focus on nutrient cycling, plant nutrition, heavy metals and soil salinity. He is at the Lal Carbon Center with Dr. Rattan Lal at The Ohio State University, for research on soil emissions of CO2 and N2O.
