During his trip to India in December 2024, Dr. Lal was honored to be invited to participate in the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) Alumni Association Celebration with Dr. Anupama Singh, Dean and Joint Director of Education at IARI/Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Dr. Raj Paroda, Founding Director of Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences (TAAS). Dr. Paroda is also former Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Government of India.
At the session hosted by IARI and TAAS in New Delhi, Dr. Lal enjoyed meeting with graduate students and seeing their field projects before giving a lecture for faculty and students entitled Soil Centric Green Revolution for Transforming India on December 12. Dr. Lal was also greatly honored to receive the physical IASWC Lifetime Achievement Award bestowed upon him in by the Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservationists in 2020 in recognition of the his 2020 World Food Prize. 
Dr. Lal expresses his deepest gratitude to all who participated in and support his trip, and he looks forward to communicating with them in future.
