At the invitation of Lal Carbon Center graduate Conner Johnson, Dr. Lal was privileged to be a keynote speaker during the 2024 Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) on January 9th. He presented Sustainable Management of Soil Health and Agriculture for Addressing Global Issues of the 21st Century to reflect the mission of this year’s theme “Digital Adventure – Ride to the Future” as stated: “We stand on the threshold of an era of perhaps the most rapid change in human history, with artificial intelligence the keystone in developing smart cities, smart health, quantum computing, virtual reality, the metaverse, and more.” He left deeply impressed with the resources of KAUST and the institution’s commitment to knowledge and progress for its students.
