Dr. Rattan Lal was honored to present at the 4th Annual Ministerial Conference of the Initiative for the Adaptation of African Agriculture to Climate Change (AAA) as part of the sixteenth session of the International Agriculture Forum at the invitation of Hie Excellency Mohamed Sidqi, Minister of Agriculture of Kingdom of Morocco. The session was entitled “Innovative Financing to Accelerate Adaptation of African Agriculture to Climate Change,” with the mission of diverting necessary funds to farmers in Africa. The aim was to align with the goals of COP29 and to support climate-friendly agriculture in Africa. Dr. Lal presented his talk Importance of Managing Soil Health in Africa.
Dr. Lal was especially grateful for the kind support and generosity of his colleagues at the event, including ICARDA Director General Aly Abousabaa and former IFPRI Director General Shenggen Fan. It was an impressive event that Dr. Lal will remember dearly.
