The review article ‘Plant Disease Suppressiveness Enhancement via Soil Health Management’ authored by Chinmayee Priyadarshini, Rattan Lal, Pu Yuan, Wenshan Liu, Ashna Adhikari, Santosh Bhandari and Ye Xia published in July 2025 have been selected as ‘Editor’s Choice Article’ by MDPI for the year 2024-2025. This review article emphasizes on the importance of disease suppressive soils with regards to both soil and plant health management. This article examines the concept of disease suppressiveness, its historical emergence, various types and mechanisms, and the critical influence of soil properties and overall soil health on the effectiveness of disease-suppressive soils. Additionally, it reviews recent research trends in the management and enhancement of these soils and discusses potential future applications.
