The Carbon Academy brought together participants and Ohio State University experts for an engaging exploration of soil carbon and its growing importance in environmental and agricultural sustainability. Through presentations, breakout discussions, and hands-on demonstrations, attendees gained a deeper understanding of how soil carbon sequestration benefits society and creates new opportunities for land managers.
The event covered a range of topics, including the soil carbon cycle, carbon credits and carbon farming, the social value of carbon, and the connection between carbon and ecosystem services. Participants learned how healthy soils can capture and store carbon while supporting broader environmental benefits such as improved soil health, water quality, and climate resilience.
